    I have tried with both SteamVR and OpenXR, tried the latter when SteamVR failed.

    I have checked and removed other overlays, including those of AMD drivers themselves. GameBar is also functionally cut out of my Windows install with a Debloater.

    The options were:

    – Rivatuner from MSI Afterburner
    – Wallpaper Engine
    – AMD Overlay
    – Discord Overlay
    – Lossless Scaling
    – Game Bar
    – Browser
    – HWINFO (reads sensors for system, I figure safe bet to shut down)
    – Windows PowerToys (has overlay componets that are turned off).
    – Steam Overlay

    All of these have been disabled for the test as you asked. I inspected Task Manager for any processes that may be related, found none.

    VorpX is allowed to turn off overlays and runs in admin mode. Alternative hook method has been tried to no effect, so it’s turned off again.

    I checked again and the app just crashes on the virtual desktop too, after the same amount of time. I had been using it to launch games so didn’t test the obvious scenario of leaving it running.

    The desktop mode is thus also a bust.

    The in-app troubleshooter was read back to front before I came to the forums: Googling also didn’t show any similar results to mine.

    FAQ above was read.

    Tested with just SteamVR and Left 4 Dead 2, crash behaviour is _identical_: Crashes about 2-3 minutes in. Seems to last the exact same amount of time before crashing each time, suggesting a timeout somewhere.

    If it’s helpful I can roll back drivers to last year or something similar.

    I’ve noticed that the app is constantly crashing when using VorpX on any game. Tested Fallout 4, Cyberpunk, Stalker Anomaly, Left 4 Dead 2, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Factorio, 15+ others.

    The Virtual desktop starts fine and works fine(usually, sometimes VorPX will attempt to hook vorpDesktop and timeout), until the moment I try to actually play a game. Game will usually start, but inevitably crash after less than 5 minutes. SteamVR reports ‘ IPC Namespace Unavailable ‘ and AMD driver reports that the driver has crashed. Notably, the driver crashes to the Virtual Desktop and in rare cases, crashes out of the VR experience outright.

    This happens only with VorpX. SteamVR home works fine, mods for Cyberpunk like RealVR work great, so it’s a very specific VorpX problem with the headset.

    Effectively this appears to make the software completely unusable under Windows 10 at this moment.

    I’m not sure if anyone can help me with this. I’m using VorpX 24.1.0 (for the native Starfield support) on Oculus Rift S, and I decided to try Left 4 Dead 2 (build ID: 15163053).

    When using the Rift S controllers in Keyboard/Mouse emulation mode I can’t use the left stick to move forward, only backward. While it might be interesting to play the game as a marine who can only back-pedal in a panic, that’s not really what I’m hoping for!

    When using the Rift S controllers in Controller emulation mode, the left stick does nothing at all.

    I’ve tried memory scan repeatedly, but it fails every time. Is there something obvious I’m overlooking, or is L4D2 support just broken in this version of VorpX? Also, is it possible to disable the right stick so I don’t accidentally nudge my view off centre?

    – The Sims 4 (takes patience)

    Of all, my favourite has to be 7 Days to Die.
    I’ve never felt so much fear in my entire life.

    The experience was so frightening, I obsessed on my bases’ integrity during bloodmoon.

    I own vorpx now for a longer time.first i used it with my rtx3080 gaming laptop. after some time i made a pc build with a rtx4090. now on both devices i have some random crashes. especially in direct vr games its worse. sometimes i can play for one or two hours without any issues and sometimes it crashes every 5 minutes. i try a lot of different combination of settings and tricks but i can’t figure out why. i also have try to conntact the vorpx support but it seems to be not existing anymore.. so maybe somone in the forum can help me. below u will see my specs and the end of the log file where it crashed.

    Hello everyone,

    every works fine except one thing: Looking down unarmed.
    When doing it, the vr view flickers and also it changes to poster view for a moment.
    It happens with headtracking on/off and with vr-controller or normal controller/keyboard input.
    But when holding a weapon (also melee) or with the opened options menu, the problem doesn’t occur.

    What setting could be here the problem?(config below)
    Bug or conflicts between headtracking and input?

    I couldnt find any similar topic.

    VorpX currently supports only OpenGL 1 and IIRC 1.1, perhaps 1.2 . 2.0 and above is not yet supported. You may try profiles from this list marked with two red bars for openGL 1-1,2.

    I worry about vorpx, Ralf didn’t tell us a plausible reason why we have still vorpx 21.3.2, and i guess Ralf has received a legal warning and Ralf is not allowed to update vorpx.

    The same in Helixvision, it hasn’t got an update since June 2021, and they didnt’t want to tell me why ! Paul Dusler was the developer of the 3dfixmanager and this was the back end of Helixvision, and guess that he left the team last year.

    And RealVR has a received a legal warning and has to delete all 2K game mods,too. He released the Cyberpunk, Eldenring, Dark Souls, Final Fantasy 7 and Ghost Wire Tokyo Mods in 2022, and that’s it. I think that he wants 130€ per year for this small list of games is ripping off the VR Fans.

    I hope that the new Geo3D, Geo11, Depth3D will shake up the scene and we will survive this crisis !

    Honestly if it comes to VR-exclusive titles, i´ve almost sold my vr-gear already years ago, leaving vr and not even looking back to it.

    Just before selling my gear, i was actually trying to play games on a virtual theater screen and THAT was what got me hooked to VR after all, so basically i am playing all my games on vr-theater screens now. The only problem was, free software such as Bigscreen-Beta caused much troubles (stuttering, crashes etc.) so it was vorpX what saved me again, coz there haven´t been those issues.

    So believe it or not, i am actually using my vr-goggles with almost every gaming-session today, on a daily basis of course.

    Now if i can´t continue playing regular games with vorpX or even other similiar products, while being forced to play those few and actually great vr-exclusives, then VR is good as dead to me coz i will not keep my gear for those few vr-exclusives being released every couple of years.

    Sad and tragic, such a thing would be.

    Thank you for the additional tips. Still trying to figure out why some games aren’t displaying properly. So far Need4Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered and Batman Arkham Origins worked first try.

    Dead Space, Alan Wake, Black Mesa, Left4Dead2, Portal 2 all have Black screen on hook-in. I’ve tried numerous profiles (official Vorpx and users’) to no avail. Even though the Vorpx version number appears, the del key doesn’t let me see the Vorpx-menu.

    I’ll also say, only Left4Dead2 & Black Mesa appear in my “restore” profile settings section of the Vorpx configuration window, even though I have run all these games already. Is that odd behavior or do some profiles get stored somewhere else? Do I need to do anything manually if I’m importing multiple profiles for the same game? (Or do they just automatically overwrite the last applied?)

    I appreciate any assistance though! Forgive my noob questions.. I’ve been tinkering but I only a couple hours a night, late. Hopefully I’ll be playing *something* by Halloween

    I am having an issue getting Vorpx to display 3D signal on my Panasonic 3D TV.

    I read some posts on this forum of people using Vorpx to play games on their 3dtv’s. Those posts are now years old, and I’m likely in minority of people still using one. But, I’ve got a 1080p 3d with great image quality so I wanted to see if I could get it up and running with Vorpx.

    I selected Generic 3dtv in Devices, and tried both “use windows default” or selecting my tv directly, but when hooking into 3 different games (Left4Dead2, Black Mesa, Portal 2) all I get is a black screen with a diagonal shader across the entire screen. I CAN see the Vorpx version number watermark in lower left of screen and I can hear the game running, but the image isn’t showing up properly on screen.

    The few videos available referencing use of Vorpx with a 3DTV already show the game hooked in and running in SBS (side-by-side image) 3D format… I’m not getting even that far.

    Also of note, the Del key to show Vorpx menu does not appear with the screen blacked out like that.

    Can anyone advise on why I maybe running into this issue?

    Hi.
    I’m on the fence about buying VORPX as I only play two games, Left4Dead2(which I gather works well) and Insurgency Sandstorm.

    I can’t find any information if anyone has tried VORPX and Sandstorm.

    I’d buy VORPX in a heartbeat if it did.

    after many tries with clone desktop and vorpx settings i get very often, the problem that the game is not shown on the vr headset. half life 2, left for dead 2, bf 4. how can i teach vorpx to use display 2. in the settings i have selected my headset.”Generic VR Headset, DR=1920 x 1080, VFOW 59°, show on SIE HMD(psvr) ” the settings should be correct?

    I have been trying to make Vorpx work with The Long Dark and Left 4 dead 2 for a couple hours now and nothing seems to be working. Vorpx Hooks to the same since i have the VORPX logo and the tips in the upper corner of the screen but no game menu wont ever appear when i hit delete, tried resetting to default, change key, nothing. im pretty much stuck here. Thanks for the replies.
